October is Filipino American History Month, and we're kicking off our celebration by honoring the pioneering Filipinos who arrived in the United States as early as 1587. Join us this month as we share stories, host programs, and explore the rich tapestry of Filipino American heritage that has shaped our nation.

We are thrilled to announce our newest rotating exhibit, 'Roots & Routes,' opening this spring at the Filipino American Museum in Las Vegas. This immersive experience traces the journeys of Filipino Americans from the Philippines to communities across the United States, featuring personal artifacts, oral histories, and stunning photography.

Join us for a hands-on Kultura Workshop where master weaver Lola Nena will teach the ancient art of Filipino banig weaving. Participants will learn the history behind this traditional craft and create their own woven piece to take home. Limited spots available — register now!

This week, we shine a light on the extraordinary individuals and organizations who have joined our Legacy Circle as Founding Patrons. Their generosity is building a permanent home for Filipino American history, art, and culture in Las Vegas. We are forever grateful for their vision and commitment to our community.

Food is culture, and Filipino cuisine is a story of resilience, creativity, and community. From the vinegared tang of adobo to the sour comfort of sinigang, every dish carries centuries of history, migration, and adaptation. This week we explore how Filipino cooking preserves Filipino American identity across generations.

Before the civil rights movement, before the farmworkers' strikes, there were the Manongs — the first wave of Filipino laborers who came to America in the early 20th century. Their stories of hardship, dignity, and community-building laid the foundation for Filipino American identity. We honor them this week.

We are launching our annual Youth Art Competition, inviting Filipino American youth ages 8–18 to share their stories through visual art. This year's theme is 'My Filipino American Story.' Winners will have their artwork displayed in our gallery and receive scholarships. Submissions open now!
